Women's Rugby
The Rugby Football Union is responsible for encouraging more girls than ever before to play and learn about rugby with the rewards becoming increasingly noticeable.
The England Elite side continue to demonstrate their strength on a global scale and recent successes include defeating the world champions New Zealand over three tests in the autumn of 2012. England are also the reigning Six Nations Grand Slam champions and have won an impressive seven successive Six Nations crowns, including six Grand Slams in seven years.
There were also victories for the England Sevens squad at the IRB Challenge Cup Sevens in Hong Kong and London. England qualified for the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2012 by winning the European Sevens Series.
Women’s rugby has gone from strength to strength over recent years and participation is currently at an all-time high with nearly 14,000 women and girls currently registered as playing each week. So whether you want to play for fun or be right up there challenging for honours, there is a place for everyone to play women’s rugby
