Moseley Rugby
Moseley was founded in 1873 and celebrated its 125th anniversary in 1998. The team adopted its signature red and black colours in 1874.
The club is based at Billesley Common - an extensive facility in the South of Birmingham less than five miles from the city centre. The ground and facilities are convenient for access from the major motorway network (M42/M6/M5) and are served with excellent public transport links by bus and train.
The facility includes a floodlit 1st XV pitch built to iRB standards, a full size 3rd generation floodlit Rubber Crumb pitch and five further grass pitches. 16 fully services hospitality boxes available for match by match or season long hire. There is also an extensive clubhouse with public license for hire.
The club runs 16 teams including the flagship RFU Championship 1st XV. Moseley Oak amateur side play in Midlands 3, the club’s womens’ team play in Championship Midlands 2.
The senior Colts (Under 19) have a countrywide reputation of excellence and feature strongly every season in the National Colts Cup competition. The junior Colts (Under 17s) have a reputation for performing strongly in both the North Midlands Under 17s league as well as the RFU National Under 17 competition.
The club’s Mini & Junior section is one of the strongest in the region and runs teams in all age groups from Under 16 to Under 7. The under 6s are catered for with the club’s Micro Section.
In early 2010 planning permission was granted by Birmingham City Council for the construction of a 5000 seat stand including extensive meeting rooms, hospitality suites, function rooms and changing facilities.
The Billesley Common facility is located just a mile from the original home of the club (The Reddings) in the same B13 postcode.
