England pooled with Argentina and Scotland

December 1, 2008

England have been drawn in Pool B alongside fourth seeds Argentina in the draw for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Their other pool opponents will be Scotland and two qualifiers –Europe 1 and the Play-off winners.

England Team Manager Martin Johnson said: "You have to take the draw you're given and this is a tough one for us against an Argentina team that finished third in the last Rugby World Cup and a Scotland side that reached the quarter-finals.

"I'm sure that the England v Scotland game will be eagerly anticipated by both sets of fans and it will be the first time the two sides have met in a World Cup in 20 years.

"Argentina are in the top four in the world and we're looking forward to playing them three times next year in two Tests on our summer tour and one in the Investec Challenge series at Twickenham."

Thousands of England fans followed the team at Rugby World Cup 2007 France with England Rugby Travel, the official travel company for England Rugby. England Rugby Travel was an Official Travel Agent of Rugby World Cup 2007 and delivered more than 14,000 ticket inclusive packages to fans across the tournament.
